How the Bail Bond Process Works
When someone is arrested, a judge sets a bail amount that must be paid before the defendant can be released from jail. Most people cannot afford to pay the full bail amount out of pocket — that’s where R3 Bail Bonds & Recovery comes in.
As a licensed bail bond agent, R3 posts the full bail amount on behalf of the defendant in exchange for a non-refundable premium (typically 10–15% of the total bail). This allows the defendant to be released from custody while awaiting trial.
